Isaiah chapters 42 to 44 - my translation

Isaiah chapters 42 to 44 - my translation

Here's my translation of excerpts from Isaiah chapter 42-44 arranged for a responsive creed. I am drawing upon John Oswalt's commentary, the Names of God Bible, the ESV, and the CSB.

“I have put my Spirit on my Chosen One with whom I am pleased.”
“He will not break off a crushed cattail.
He will not snuff out a faintly smoldering flax.
He himself will not faint or be crushed
until he has established justice on the earth.”

Yahweh God created the universe and stretched it out.
He shaped the earth and all that comes from it.
He gave breath to the people who are on it
and spirit to those who walk on it.

“I am Yahweh — that is my name.”
“I will lead the blind on unfamiliar roads.
I will turn darkness into light in front of them.
I will make hilly places level.”

“Do not be afraid, because I have reclaimed you.”
“I have called you by name. You are mine.
You are my witnesses, so that you can know and believe in me, and understand that I am he who did this.”

“No god was formed before me. There will be none after me.”
“There is no savior except me.
I have revealed it to you.
You are my witnesses that I am God.”

“I am Yahweh, your Holy One, the Creator of Israel, your King.”
“I did not exhaust you or weary you.
But you exhausted me by your sins
and wearied me by your guilty acts.
I alone am the one who is going to wipe away
your rebellious actions for my own sake.
I will not remember your sins.”

Yahweh made you, formed you in the womb, and will help you.
“I am the first and I am the last.
Didn’t I make this known to you long ago?”

“Is there any god except me?”
There is no other rock. I know of none.
